Testimonials

"Melissa was an incredible speaker and workshop leader. She brought energy, enthusiasm, and expertise around different modes of devising and community-building that was both engaging and useful to our students and faculty. Melissa also has a great way of breaking down the work so that the making of new ensemble theatre suddenly felt approachable, achievable and stress-free, even to beginning students. She also put together many complex thoughts in such a straight-forward and organized way so that we as faculty felt we could use these tools moving forward. She removed a lot of the mystique and gave us a working language and set up prompts that we could use in future processes. We would love to her back and again and will follow all The Anthropologists’ work moving forward!"

"I was struck by the clear sense of excitement about and respect for the work that had been built so quickly in the room. Moschitto even engaged the students in a brief, deep dive into devising their own pieces in small groups at the end of this exhilarating and informative session. These short pieces were fun, smart and revelatory! My students took away a clear, organized and lively understanding of the devising process and how to work effectively with a small group of collaborators - from the earliest gestation of an idea through embodied research and on to editing, sculpting and scripting. This was a standout visit with an accomplished guest artist/educator – one my students and I continue to reference and to build on as we continue our conversations about making contemporary, path-breaking theatre."
